2012? THE FUTURE IS NOW!!!!

While Hollywood and the Survivalist are waiting for the world to end in the year 2012, helicopters and armed men patrol our communities. People are sleeping in the streets, children go hungry, and death is everywhere. This is not some movie, this is not some distant future, not in Iraq or in some other country, this is on our streets. When the veterans return from war, this will only get worst. Our jails will be full, our hospitals will be strained, and our streets will be even bloodier. Poverty. War. Racism. Hate. Hunger.

While the world waits for 2012..........The future is now!!!!!!

WARS and RUMORS of WARS!!!

War is defined as  an armed conflict; as between nations or between parties.   If you read todays headlines or tune in to todays news you  see or hear about the conflict taking place or about to take place between nations.   You will also notice the conflicts taking place in our communities.  Just as rivals in Iraq or Afghanistan are in the streets armed with assault rifles and pistols, young black males are in the streets of our communities armed with some of these same weapons.  They are robbing, stealing and killing.   For what?   For drugs, high price hubcaps(rims), cars, money, and for so called territory that they don't even own.  They are so blood thirsty they can't even see that their most powerful weapons are being used against them.  THEIR MINDS!!!

The craziest part of this whole situation is that they are at the lowest level of warfare.  Just recently the government of this country announced the creation of Cybercom, the arm of the military that will do battle in cyberspace or online as we call it.  Companies and Countries have already been doing battle here for some time.  Have we?  Can We?  How many of us own computers?  Of the ones that own computers, how many of us know how to truly use them?  Can we network?   Can we communicate.   We know how to shoot.   We know how to run.   We know how to jump and look menacing.

While we are fighting for petty territory in government created projects,  Nations are fighting for territory above the earth to put their weather satellites, missile defense systems, cell phone satellites, future colonies as well as other things.  While we fight for drug spots, others fight for the future.  If we continue on this path we are DOOMED!!!  

Hopefully we will come to our senses and change.  The Brazilian educator Paulo Freire said it best when he said "the most potent weapon of the oppressor, is the mind of the oppressed."

I'm Sorry.....So Sorry

Today the Senate apologized for slavery.  Do you feel any different?  Has anything changed yet?  The same people that benefited the most from slavery are now all apologizing.  The same people that apologized to the so called Indians, and the same people that apologized for locking up the Japanese are now saying they are sorry to Black people.  

I guess they are sorry for taking Africans from their homeland, packing them like animals inside of ships and then selling them off inside this and other countries.  No apology can make up for the damage done to the African/Black family because of this.  Men were used primarily to breed and women were used to produce more slaves.  Fear was placed in the hearts and minds of them all.  That fear has been passed down for generations.

President Obama just returned from a visit to Germany, where he went to the camps that the Nazis used to keep the Jews that were worked to death.  They never forget.  They shouldn't.  This country has never really dealt with slavery.  Just as Africa has never truly dealt with it.  

An apology is just a facade.  Millions died in the Middle passage.  An apology will not bring them back!

We Sick!!!

Why do people of color continue to go to Miami beach/South Beach when it is clear that the people in that town do not want them there.  Recently a tourist from Virginia was shot and killed by police, and his cousin was arrested for questioning what happened.  Also an athlete was sentenced to jail time for DUI.  He hit a man that was trying to cross an expressway/causeway.  A Miami Dolphin player was arrested for not stopping for police.  

These are only a few things.   We continue to go there and spend our money even if they do not want us there.  Why?   Malcolm said it best.   WE SICK BOSS!!!   WE SICK!!!!  

Miami Beach has a deep history of racism.  It has not went anywhere.  It has been updated for the 21st century.  The powers that be in Miami Beach will continue to take your money and disrespect you at the same time.    WE SICK!!!!
